My interest in electronics and radio started in 1957 when I was eight years old. As a project for Cub Scouts, my father and I built a two tube AM broadcast receiver from junk parts
(he did most of the building hi...hi...). Sitting next to the radio at night, with the lights out and the warm glow of the tubes
really let my mind wander. My interest in electronics and radio continued and in 1966 I passed my Novice test and received the
call WN3FEW. John Michaels, W3FAR was my Elmer and administered the Novice test. In the fall of 1966 I moved to New Jersey, passed my General class test and received the call WB2ZAD. Today I have
my Extra class ticket with vanity call K2VY. It seems I am constantly changing my interests in Ham
Radio. Actually, that is one of the nice things about the hobby. There is something for everyone, even if your interests change !
If you know who the original holder of K2VY was,
would you please send an email to dan@k2vy.net and let me know ?
Thank you and 73 ! |
