K2VY Amateur Radio Station
This is my home office and present radio station. The station is built around an Icom IC-756PRO transceiver. Audio processing for transmit and receive consists of a Heil PR-20 dynamic mic, dbx 286A mic preamp/processor, DOD 231 Qx dual 31-band audio equalizer, Behringer MX882 splitter/mixer and a Crown D-45 audio amplifier driving an Infinity CC-3 speaker. The linear amplifier is a home brew running 500 watts with a pair of 572b's in grounded grid. My antennas are a 15/10 meter Hex Beam at 35 feet and a home brew 17 meter coaxial vertical dipole. I QSL 100% via "Logbook of the World" with other options upon request. Thanks for stopping by and 73.

This website is for those interested in the activities and station of K2VY. The K2VY amateur radio station is located in beautiful, historic Haddonfield, New Jersey.

Dan Holben, K2VY was first licensed in early 1966 as WN3FEW. His Novice station consisted of a Knight Kit T-60 CW transmitter, Lafayette receiver, home-brew antenna tuner and a 40 meter Windom antenna. The station was located in North Wales, PA. His "Elmer" was Mr. John Michaels, W3FAR. Mr Michaels worked with Dan and administered the Novice Class FCC test. This was the beginning of Dan's ham radio activities.

Then, in the fall of 1966, his parents moved to Haddonfield, NJ and he upgraded to General with a call of WB2ZAD. Dan was mostly active on 20 meter SSB and enjoyed 6 meters with his local class mates from the Haddonfield Memorial High School.

Dan was inactive for a few years and then got the bug again. He upgraded to Extra Class with a call of N2FET and later changed it to K2VY with the vanity call program.

His present station is being built around the ICOM IC-703 Plus transceiver, Audio Technica AT2020 mic, VAC pop-filter, dbx 286A mic preamp/processor, Behringer MX882 splitter/mixer, DOD 231 QX dual 31-band audio graphic equalizer, HeadRoom headphone amplifier and a 20 watt homebrew audio amplifier driving an Infinity CC-3 speaker.

Dan's wife, Mary is also a licensed ham with a tech plus call N2HMX.
